Back home again!
August passed by just like that and now September, and I guess autumn, is here. For me personally autumn doesn't begin until after the Mercè (the massive celebration that takes place in Barcelona around the 24th of September). So there's a few weeks left of sun and hot weather! I arrived in Barcelona just before the Mercè 9 years ago. It's a very special time for me, I have such beautiful, and fun, memories to look back on.
We've spent most of August away from Barcelona; in Finland and in the US. We spent a week in Chicago and another week in New Orleans, and we had the time of our lives. I can very much recommend both places! Guides over both places will come soon.
We had such a great vacation and I was worried what it would be like to come back to Barcelona. Would I get restless feet? Would I feel that Barcelona just doesn't do it for me anymore? Well, I didn't have to worry. Already in the plane looking down on the city when we were descending I felt that warm and fuzzy feeling. An old lady smiling at me on the street helped. So did the realization that new places have opened while I've been away, and more of them are on their way! So stay tuned for more on them here on the website...
One of the reasons Barcelona keeps its charm for a restless soul like myself is that it keeps changing. It moves, it's breathes, it's alive and beautiful. Let's treat it with respect, shall we? Let's get rid of the Segways, let's not throw up on the streets or keep the grannies awake at night. Barcelona is beautiful and diverse and gracious and loving and deserves to be kept that way.
Well, end of rant, we have an amazing autumn to look forward to so let's go!
