Best Seafood in Barcelona

Best Seafood in Barcelona

Considering we live right by the Mediterranean sea, we are bound to eat lots of seafood. I LOVE seafood! I could probably eat it every day for the rest of my life..! And being in Barcelona, of course there are lots of great seafood restaurants, with the freshest ingredients. Here are my favorites:

Lluritu - This bar/restaurant might be small, but it is bound to win your heart with its old-school kind of vibe. It's a humble place but the fish and seafood is very good, a lot of it made on the grill. Try the dried octopus, it might be one of the pricier items on the menu but it's worth every cent.

La Paradeta – one of my favorites indeed. A big table of fresh seafood where you pick market-fresh fish and seafood to be prepared for you. Not expensive, and great for when you want to stuff your face with lots of food. Read more here.

El Tast de Joan Noi – Inside a market in Gracia. The food is so ridiculously fresh, it all comes from the stall next to the little food stand. The tuna is amazing. Read more here.

Kiosko Universal – The Boqueria can be a bit overwhelming, but this is a great stop for good quality seafood.

Casa Mari y Rufo - Small and unassuming, you could never believe the great dishes that come out of their kitchen. Their grilled octopus is the best I've ever had. Read more here.

La Freiduria de Pauli – A tiny little place but has an incredibly long menu. Order the spider crab in advance. More info here.

Mont Bar - Tapas-style dishes to share, many of them top-notch fish and seafood. More info here.

Bar Mut - Small bistro-style restaurant with a great atmosphere and fantastic seafood. More info here.

Can Solé - The restaurant is 115 (!) years old, a classic in the city. Great paellas and seafood is on offer here. Blog post for more info here.

Pez Vela - It might be a bit touristy, but the paella is really good! Book a table in advance, and if weather permits make sure you get a table on the terrace with views over the sea. Read my post here.

El Quim de la Boqueria - Is a visit to the Boqueria on your agenda? Make sure you grab lunch here, it's a true Barcelona classic and local top chefs come for tasty seafood tapas.
