Porridge at Bohl, Barcelona

When it’s cold I get a serious craving for porridge, what about you? Some years ago it was impossible to find porridge anywhere, but that is definitely not the case anymore! Here are the places I have found so far that have a porridge, or several, on their menu. But beware! Many places take the porridges off their menu when the weather gets warm, which is of course understandable.

Bohl has recently opened and they have four (!) porridges to choose from! A chia and overnight oats porridge with banana, goji berries, pecan nuts, coconut and bee pollen, a warm cacao porridge with cacao powder, hazelnuts, cacao nibs and date paste (yummm), an apple pie porridge with apple and cinnamon and other toppings and finally a Korean inspired savoury porridge with avocado, eggs and chilli flakes. Itacate, Barcelona

Itacate, Barcelona

Itacate is favourite hangout of mine! Their porridge is packed with home-made granola, peanut butter (100% peanuts, no added crap!) and seasonal fruit. Very filling and really tasty! They have WiFi, which makes it perfect to get some work done, and make sure you check out their art exhibitions, there is always something interesting going on. Read all about Itacate here.

 Maai, Barcelona

Maai serves a good porridge with blueberries, chocolate and banana, and WiFi too if you want to work while you eat your breakfast. They are only open Monday to Friday during morning and lunch. I am very impressed with their great healthy and nutritional concept, so make sure you check out other things on their menu too. Read more about Maai here.

Eat My Trip has a great porridge with so much stuff in it that I couldn’t even finish mine! And they have a warm chia pudding with fruit too, doesn’t that sound intriguing? Eat My Trip has created such a fun concept, I am always curious about their new dishes. Read my review here.

Espai Joliu serves up a porridge in their cosy café in Poble Nou. Check out all the cool things they sell here too, like plants, interesting magazines, jewellery and other hand-made goods. They also have WiFi if you need to work. Read more here.

Hammock Juice Station has a porridge that will fill you up for hours, read all about it here, and make sure you enjoy it in one of their super comfy sitting hammocks. I pair up my porridge with the salty caramel smoothie, SO GOOD.

Satan’s Coffee has a black rice porridge on their menu, but if I remember correctly it’s not a warm porridge (correct me if I’m wrong). It’s really good though, I do remember that..! And of course you are assured very good coffee here.

Granja Petitbo serves a porridge with chocolate, nuts and coconut that looks pretty good, I haven’t had the opportunity to taste it myself yet unfortunately. Read more about it here.
