Sirvent - A Picnic Brunch Pop-Up!
Picnic Restaurant has always been a favorite of mine. It’s small, it’s cute, it has plenty of atmosphere and the food is SO good. We’ve been going there for a few years, and I was very excited when I heard the news that they were doing a collaboration with Sirvent for brunch, called Brunch Invasion.
I hadn’t been to Sirvent before, but it looks great from the outside, so I was very curious to see what it’s like. And it exceeded all of my expectations! The space is beautiful, very cool and different from what I’ve seen around the city.
And then the food… The food! I knew it would be good because it’s Picnic after all, but I couldn’t have guessed that it would be THIS good..! There are so many good options on the menu that it’s difficult, if not impossible, to choose. I wanted to try it all!
I loved the variety in the brunch menu, there were sweet, savory, traditional brunch items and fun exciting options. FUN is a good word to use in fact. A soft shell banh mi sandwich anyone? Or a crab cake Eggs Benedict? Yes yes YES!
We had the Cajun fried chicken waffle and it was fantastic. The sweetness of the waffle and the crunch of the chicken is the perfect brunch marriage. I had the crab cake Eggs Benedict and it was so full of flavor. I too was ridiculously full after this, but I could not resist the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. Just the name almost brings tears to my eyes. Where in Barcelona can you get that?
You have to go if you haven’t been yet, promise me! And go before everyone else discovers it, because it will be very busy once the news gets out..!
IN A NUTSHELL
Atmosphere: Laid back, good to go with friends or for a couple. Large, beautiful space.
Recommendations: Don’t eat for a couple of days so that you can try everything, haha..!
Specifics: They have a terrace that’s nice when it’s warm outside. Sirvent also specializes in horchata (wonderful in summer!), and they have a fascinating (and long) coffee list.
Reservations: A good idea, just in case!
Adress: Ronda de Sant Pau 67
