Barcelona Food Experience

Hi.

Welcome to Barcelona Food Experience! I'm on a mission to find good food in the city, and share it with you. I hope you can find something you like!

Best No Tourists

Best No Tourists

I don't mind tourists myself, but if you're coming to visit Barcelona and you're looking for an authentic experience then this category might be for you. There are lots of places like these, but here are a few of my favorites:

El tast de Joan Noi – Smack in the middle of a neighbourhood market, no tourists here. Fresh seafood from the stall next to it, great for a Saturday lunch.

Mercat de la Llibertat p.111

Bar Bodega Quimet - This adorable bodega is always packed but don't let that scare you. Go early and have a tasty vermouth or some good wine and tapas.

Carrer de Vic 23

Bodega Manolo - The walls are covered with huge old wine barrels. Their anarchistic (black) bravas are to die for.

Carrer del Torrent de les Flors 101

Las Fernandez – on a dark side street in the Raval you can find this gem of a restaurant where most of the menu is handwritten on a piece of paper. Delicious.

Carrer de les Carretes 11

La Esquinica - It's a bit off the beaten path but so worth the visit. They don't take reservations so if you don't go early you'll have to queue. Excellent, inexpensive tapas are on the menu.

Passeig de Fabra i Puig 296

Can Travi Nou – A big old house on the hills where no tourists endeavor. Rustic, traditional food, and check out the dessert cart (!).
