EatWith Experience With Lovely Isabel!
Not long ago I had the pleasure to attend my first EatWith experience! Can you believe I have never done it before..? Close to my place in the lovely Gracia neighbourhood lives Isabel, a wonderful lady who has combined her passion for cooking, travelling and meeting new people into her own EatWith experience.
We were welcomed with a lovely pre-lunch vermouth with some snacks on her beautiful lush green terrace, with a vinyl record playing the background. Isabel is a great host and makes sure everyone feels welcome. Our group consisted of a girl from Macau, a Chinese girl, a guy from Brooklyn NY, Isabel’s lovely daughter and myself.
Our main course was paella, and before we began the feast Isabel invited us to her kitchen to show how it’s prepared, and the final touches it requires. Then it was time to sit down by the table for the first course: a fresh strawberry gazpacho with croutons. Isabel had picked out a cool and crispy white wine to accompany the dish.
And then it was time to dig into the paella: I’m a big fan of good, flavourful home-made paellas! It was just as tasty as it looked. When it was time for the dessert we had the opportunity to participate in giving the final touches to a beautiful crema catalana.
I thoroughly enjoyed the experience with Isabel: the food was really great, Isabel is a wonderful host, and even for a hard-core introvert as myself it was wonderful to meet people who have exactly the same interest as you: eating..! In addition to this experience Isabel also organises a cooking class through EatWith, for those who are interested in cooking typical Spanish dishes and want a hands-on experience.
