Circl – Matcha, Pilates, and L.A. Vibes in Barcelona
On my first visit to Circl, I was genuinely surprised. Walking through the doors, I forgot I was in Barcelona for a while: it felt more like I’d been transported to L.A. instead (think Archives of Us or Community Goods).

Circl isn’t immediately obvious from the street; you have to look for it and make a small effort to find the entrance, which takes you a few steps down from street level. Once inside, it opens up into a beautifully designed space that combines a matcha bar, café, and Pilates studio. Near the entrance, there’s a bright, sunny café area, while further in the back you’ll find the cozy workout space. It is designed by famed Isern Serra, who is behind many beautiful spaces in Barcelona.

The drink menu is extensive, and as a matcha lover myself, I was excited to see so many different options on offer. From classics to more playful combinations, there’s plenty to choose from. I was particularly drawn to the sour cherry matcha which I loved (not too sweet, just perfect), and the moon cloud matcha which I can’t wait to try. There is also specialty coffee (extensive options) if you’re not a matcha person.

If you’re feeling hungry, Circl has you covered. The menu includes both savory and sweet snacks, making it a great stop whether you’re popping in after a workout or meeting a friend for a little break. So far, I’ve tried the sesame egg sando, which I loved, and I’m very much determined to work my way through the rest of the menu (the za’atar whipped feta cottage toast looks good).

The atmosphere at Circl is youthful, friendly, and cool, with a very girly touch. It’s the kind of place that works great both for catching up with a friend and going solo, grabbing a drink, and simply enjoying the vibes.
