Llamber - Atmosphere and Innovative Dishes

I had heard many good things about Llamber before we finally had the opportunity to go and find out ourselves. The restaurant is located in Born, and the area is frequented by tourists, but do not let that scare you. There are plenty of gems here, and one of them is Llamber.

The restaurant is spacious but manages to keep a sense a coziness and atmosphere. It's beautifully decorated and inviting. There's a terrace if you prefer sitting outside, a bar, a communal table and an inviting space in the back with a fireplace. There are interesting little nooks and corners everywhere.

I had heard great things about the food (a fusion between Asturian and Catalan) at Llamber already beforehand. And we were certainly not disappointed. Here is what we had the opportunity to devour:

  • Salmon carpaccio with citrus fruits, dill yoghurt, ginger ice cream: A showstopper! A must-try.

  • Tuna tataki with almond cream and black garlic: very flavorful.

  • Parmesan fondue with green asparagus and prawns: I love food that's meant to dip..!

  • Foie mi-cuit miniburger with pineapple "fries": The presentation was so cool, with tiny little ketchup and mustard bottles. I'm a big fan of foie gras so I loved this dish.

  • Tender pork cheek: The meat was amazingly tender and juicy, and covered with a flavorful sauce.

  • Braised octopus with smoked cheese: My personal favorite, I love octopus and I enjoyed the unexpected pairing with cheese. It's very subtle, and very tasty.

  • Passion for chocolate: A chocolate-lovers dream dessert..!

The dishes are all to share, which is a great opportunity to try as many things as possible. The presentation is also very interesting and adds an additional coolness to the experience.

We had an excellent meal and we will most certainly return. This place is recommendable for groups too, and I personally suggest it for casual business dinners: not too fancy but with lots of atmosphere and very good food.
