Walkable Food Routes in Barcelona
Sometimes the easiest way to explore Barcelona is to pick one neighbourhood and stay there for a few hours.
That’s why I included three 5-stop walkable food routes in the Barcelona Eating Guide. Each one is built around a different part of the city and a different kind of day: you follow the stops in order, eat and drink along the way, and still have time to wander around the neighbourhood in between.
The exact stops, route order and Google Maps links are exclusive to the guide, but here’s what each route is about.
Gràcia Daytime Route
A daytime route through Gràcia, starting with coffee and something sweet before moving through cheese, wine, seafood and vermouth.
It’s made for a long, relaxed afternoon rather than rushing from one place to the next. There’s also a bonus shopping tip for some of my favorite streets in the neighbourhood.
Sant Antoni Evening Route
An evening route through Sant Antoni, with vermouth, tapas, natural wine, dinner and cocktails.
Sant Antoni is one of my favorite areas for an evening out because you can move between very different places without walking far. The route also includes a stop at the Mercat de Sant Antoni along the way.
El Born Stroll
A walk through El Born mixing pastries and coffee, cava and tapas, something a little different for dinner, and ice cream to finish.
There’s also a non-food stop in the middle, because sometimes I like breaking up an eating route with something else worth seeing in the neighbourhood.
How the routes work
Each route includes five stops, with my notes on why I chose each one and the order I’d visit them in.
You’ll also find a Google Maps QR code for every route, so once you’re in Barcelona you can open the stops directly on your phone rather than having to search for them one by one.
The full routes are only available inside the Barcelona Eating Guide.
