I’ve been following Bagel Boy since before there was a permanent shop, back when he was doing pop-ups around Barcelona, so it’s been very satisfying to see how well the Gràcia spot is doing now.

The shop itself is tiny and mostly takeaway, with just a couple of benches outside if you want to eat there. You can buy the bagels on their own, or have them filled with anything from bacon, egg and cheese to pastrami or smoked salmon. The bagels are sourdough, the cream cheeses are made in-house, and there are plenty of different flavors to choose from.

My absolute favorite is the everything bagel with scallion cream cheese and smoked salmon. Simple, classic and SO good.
Bagel Boy also supplies bars and restaurants around the city. Henry’s Bar, for example, uses their bagels for brunch, and that one is incredible too.
They sell out on plenty of days, so my advice is simple: go early, or order online.
