Bar Bocata - Any Time of the Day

The hype is real when it comes to Bar Bocata. It’s on everyone’s lips, and we can see why, from the moment we step through its doors.

Bar Bocata is a vibe. It’s full of atmosphere, and the open kitchen makes it even more exciting when you see everything that is going on. It opens early in the morning for anyone who is in need of a good breakfast, and at lunchtime it packed, regardless of the day of the week (except on Sundays when they’re closed). In the evening it fills up with hungry diners looking for a nice glass of wine, a good caña, and tasty tapas.

Their tortilla is famous, so make sure to add it to your order. Wonderfully soft in the middle, and with soft caramelised onion, it’s pure perfection. They're great at making sandwiches which should’t come as a surprise considering the name of the place.

The interior has a vintage touch, and some of the dishes nod to times gone by, with some hearty classic dishes on the menu. Should they have their macarrones on the menu, just go for it, no questions asked. We’re pretty sure they add gravy to it, and the result is incredible.

Bar Bocata is great for any time of the day: in the morning for a quick breakfast, to stop by for lunch if you work nearby, and for dinner to catch up with friends. But make sure to book in advance for the latter two: this place is popular.

Bar Bocata, Travessera de Gràcia, 86, Barcelona (Sarrià-Sant Gervasi).
