Bar Super – Natural Wines and Market-Fresh Dishes
The Colombo brothers (of Xemei and Bar Brutal fame) have done it again. Bar Super brings something fresh to the Barcelona food scene—completely different from their previous ventures. It’s located just across from the Mercat de Santa Caterina, tucked into a calm corner away from the crowds.

The interior is sleek and modern, with red accents and plenty of natural light flooding in through the large windows. There’s seating at the bar (my favorite spot), cozy window seats, and a few tables in the back for more private dining.

They’ve carried over the natural wine-forward concept from Bar Brutal, offering an impressive selection of wines, many available by the glass. The menu focuses on cuina de mercat—seasonal, local ingredients, many of them sourced directly from the Santa Caterina market across the street.

Naturally, there’s a nod to the Colombo brothers' Italian roots, with dishes like carciofi alla carbonara (artichokes in carbonara-style sauce) and melanzane in carrozza (fried eggplant with cheese). But they also add their own signature touch, keeping things simple and letting the ingredients shine. The grilled mackerel was a highlight, though offerings may vary depending on what’s freshest that day.

Don’t skip dessert—the millefeuille with whipped cream and tonka bean is pure indulgence. And do make a reservation: this place fills up fast.
