On our recent visit, we opted for Carme Ruscalleda’s signature menu. We started with a beautifully decorated tomato velouté with beetroot and fresh cheese, and a dish with very local flavors: eggs, Iberian ham, and vichyssoise.

We chose a beef ragout with mushrooms for the main course, the so-called Fricandó that is so popular on family meals. We also had roasted Iberian pork that came with apple, giving it a lovely sweetness, and piquillo, which is a small, red pepper.

The desserts did not disappoint: we decided to try the much-loved Crema Catalana to see what Carme Ruscalleda’s version of it would be like, and we loved its citrusy creaminess. We also chose an apricot dessert that I loved and that came beautifully presented.
