Bohl - Healthy, Pretty Perfection
Bohl has it all: a beautiful interior, a not-too-busy location, and a delightful healthy menu. The interior has been loved by many an Instagrammer since its opening, with a spacious inviting design and those gorgeous concrete pillow-clad steps that invite to sit down and linger for a while. The location on Carrer Trafalgar means that you rarely pass by it by accident, so you can keep it as your little secret..!

The menu is impressive. The focus is healthy, and there are A LOT of options. Just for drinks you have 7 different coffees (from lovely Hidden Coffee Roasters!) and 6 healthy lattes (I love it!) including a Houjicha Latte which is not easy to find around here, and six different types of milk to choose from! Obviously there are also juices and smoothies (the Rawtella smoothie really caught my attention).

The smoothie bowls (all vegan and gluten free) are great options, and I love the porridge bowl section: four different porridges to choose from! It’s not easy to find porridge in Barcelona, and finding a place where you have four different ones is fantastic. One of the options is a savory porridge: a nudge to the lovely owner’s Korean heritage. Everyone I know who’s tried it have loved it! The Apple Pie porridge is one of my favorites, and the Warm Cacao porridge is a delight: oats (you can opt for gluten free oats) with 100% cacao powder and the toppings are banana, hazelnut, cacao nibs, coconut flakes and date paste. So tasty and keeps you full for hours.

There are five different toasts to choose from. The Salty Cream Cheese toast looked interesting with cashew cream cheese, cucumber, arugula and sun-dried tomato from Mallorca.

Lunch can also be had here, with different starters like Yucca fries, and mains such as Bibimbap, a salad bowl and a vegan sushi bowl. The desserts a wonderful mix of options like vegan ice-cream from Parallelo, banana bread and a dessert called The Bomb: a home-made brownie with chocolate ice cream and even more chocolate..!
Bohl is very impressive: casual but very well thought through both option-wise and nutritionally, and plenty of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. Go here, eat well and feel good about yourself, it’s so worth it.
