Caravelle - Coolest Kid in the Neighborhood

Caravelle is the kind of place that you have looked up beforehand when you’re traveling somewhere cool. The kind of place that, at first sight, you know you’ll love. It has its roots in both Melbourne and London, and is one of the pioneers in the Barcelona brunch scene.

Caravelle always does things its own way, remaining blissfully indifferent to trends, but still manages to be the coolest kid in the neighborhood. And makes it look so effortless.

It opens early to fuel caffeine-deprived regulars, and anyone who is on the lookout for a sturdy breakfast. The healthy options cover tahini-toasted granola bowl with mango coulis, overnight oats with coconut kefir and breakfast bowls, whereas those longing for an indulgent start of the day can look forward to a mind-blowing French Toast with coconut cream and passionfruit purée, an unforgettable Eggs Bennie with smoked pulled pork (or a vegetarian version, if you prefer), baked eggs, Caravelle Rancheros, or shakshuka.

Lunch brings out their famous cheese and bacon burger (many claim it’s one of the best in the city!), two types of shawarma, a chicken schnitzel, and both vegan and vegetarian options.

Caravelle does not disappoint in the drinks department. They serve specialty coffee in many versions, house-made chai latte, smoothies, cans of their tasty sodas (my favorites are the retro cola and the hibiscus and grapefruit!), house-made raspberry ice tea, and fun brunch cocktails.

Caravelle also has a brewery, which means that if craft beer is your thing make sure to try anything off the tap, as it is as fresh as they come.

They don’t take reservations so make sure to come early, it gets packed pretty fast, especially on weekends!
