Forn Gil brings a family bakery to Cruixent’s former home in Poblenou

There’s bread baking again at Pujades, 173. After Cruixent closed in July and many neighbors and former clients were very sad, Forn Gil took over the premises, opening in early September and keeping the address in the hands of an artisan bakery.

The family business has roots dating back to 1891 in Reus, with established shops in Barcelona’s Clot area. Its arrival in Poblenou also brings a familiar pastry chef back to the neighbourhood: Florencia Rondón, previously behind Monsieur Bosch, is responsible for the sweet offering.

Alongside classics such as Sacher and Massini cakes, the selection includes creations featuring yuzu, hazelnut and tiramisu. There’s also a workshop space, which has already hosted its first children’s baking activity.

For anyone who missed having a bakery at this address, there’s a new team to get to know.
