El Villa Vermuteria - Almeria in Gracia
I challenge you not to fall in love with El Villa Vermuteria at first sight. The staff is so darn friendly and welcoming, and makes you feel right at home. The style of the place also catches your eye: the place has actually won a prize for the interior decoration and it really is cool, with a marine theme.
El Villa is a vermouth bar, with a great menu to boot. It follows the marine theme, with plenty of tasty foods from the sea. The bar pays homage to Almería, and on the menu you will notice its roots from the south.
To add to the atmosphere there is a constant stream of beautiful flamenco music from the speakers. The bar quickly gets packed with hungry and thirsty clients, but the smile of the staff never fades.
I go here for their vermouth and their fantastic dried octopus (slightly similar to the one at Lluritu but cheaper), make sure to order it upon arrival because it takes about half an hour to prepare. They have cheese boards, sandwiches, signature sandwiches, anchovies, quality tinned goods and mojama which also a must: filleted salt-cured tuna that almost tastes like a nice piece of jamón.
If you’re looking for a great place to celebrate something this is your place, they often organize larger events. There is also a large table in the back if you want to book in advance.
El Villa is located in Gracia, and it might just be that friendly haven you’ve been looking for.
