Trópico - an Island Paradise in Raval
Trópico is hidden away on a side street in Raval, which is excellent if you don’t want to wait in line for a great brunch. Because Trópico knows what a good brunch is.

The menu has influences from all over the world, and the food is both tasty and fun. All the items on the menu are available all day, which is perfect if you come hungry and are looking for some sustenance.

You can opt for a traditional brunch dish like pancakes that come served with fruit and cream cheese, a delicious açaí bowl, or you can choose something fun like msemen (breakfast crepes from the Middle East). I am a big fan of their Eggs Benedict (the ones in the photos are a modification of their usual Bennies, I asked for mine without the Hollandaise sauce). Make sure to leave some room for their delicious cakes.

Trópico isn’t only for brunch though, it works equally as great for lunch or dinner (Fridays and Saturdays). Choose from tequeños, yuca frita, quinoa salad, gyozas, and much more.

And please don’t forget to order a smoothie! They are picture perfect and SO tasty. If you prefer something spiked, then order one of their delectable (and pretty) tropical cocktails.

Make sure to check out the beautiful mural in the back: a map of the world carved out in the wall. It took months to finish! If you go for brunch during the weekend, book your table in advance.
