Equilibrium - Innovative Plant-Based Haven
Equilibrium Cafe opened its doors fairly recently and has quickly turned into a popular spot for brunch and lunch. Located in an Eixample corner, this cozy cafe offers plant-based everything, made with lots of love by chef David Wicks. He is very passionate for what he does, and works out his recipes on his own: he refuses to go by the books. And the result is fantastic! He makes everything from scratch, including vegan cheeses, ferments, and pickles.
The breakfast options are plenty, and in particular, the Full English Breakfast stands out, all plant-based with vegan bacon, chickpea omelet, vegan sausages, and much more. Their brunch checks all the boxes, especially with their gluten-free buckwheat pancakes, that are available with different toppings (both sweet and savory). My favorite is the simplest one with vegan butter and maple syrup. The pancakes are wonderfully fluffy and filling.
I can't wait to go back and try their (very affordable) lunch menu. I am particularly curious about the vegan ramen that looks amazing. Also worth mentioning are the cakes and cookies that are all home-made. I very much enjoyed their carrot cake.
They stock my favorite kombucha (Kashaya Kombucha), and they serve excellent specialty coffee, in addition to lots of other drink options such as smoothies, juices, and wellness lattes. What’s not to love with Equilibrium Cafe?
