Franca has received plenty of raving reviews, and I completely understand why. The concept, the execution, and the atmosphere are all spot on. Three young chefs with experience from some of Barcelona’s top fine dining restaurants have come together to create something truly exciting: a place that celebrates Catalan tradition while giving it a fresh, modern twist. For me, it’s one of the most delightful surprises of the year.

Why it stands out

Franca is one of those rare places that manages to balance creativity with comfort. The food feels familiar yet new and exciting, rooted in Catalan flavors but reinterpreted with playfulness. The trio behind Franca bring serious skill but also an easy energy to what they do. You can sense their excitement, they’re clearly cooking from a place of joy.
The mood
The atmosphere is inviting, the service is friendly, and the food is creative without feeling too impersonal. It’s the kind of place that reminds you why eating out can be so exciting.
