Snapshot – Ikenoan

Ikenoan is the sister spot to Ikenocha, run by the same Japanese team, but with a slightly different feel. While Ikenocha is small and bright, Ikenoan leans more towards a traditional Japanese teahouse: calmer, darker, and very cozy. It’s quite incredible how a place just next to Diagonal can feel so peaceful.

The focus is still on beautifully prepared matcha and hojicha, but here you might be tempted to stay a little longer. They also serve savory options (I loved the takoyaki) and something sweet to finish, like the black sesame ice cream with anko.

In a nutshell, it feels like a slightly more spacious, sit-down version of Ikenocha, with the same care and friendliness.

Atmosphere: Calm, cozy, and quiet despite the central location.

A favorite: The takoyaki and anything matcha.

Something special: The black sesame ice cream with anko, it’s simple and so good.

Great if you like: Ikenocha or Usagui.

Perfect for: Slowing down over tea and something small to eat, and a wonderfully Japanese feel.

Ikenoan, Av. Diagonal 353 (Eixample Dreta), Barcelona.
