Little Viet - Beatiful Vietnamese Street Food
It was love at first sight for me with Little Viet. I saw they had recently opened, and their Instagram account immediately caught my attention. The stories about Vietnamese culture and its food made me want to visit the restaurant as soon as possible.

And my hunch was right. Little Viet is run by two sisters, Ha and NHi, who couldn’t find authentic Vietnamese street food in Barcelona and decided to open their own restaurant. NHi told us that everything in the restaurant is brought from Vietnam: lamps, dishes, including wall papers! They always strive to use the freshest ingredients, no vegetables that have been in a fridge for days, and you can both taste it, and see it in the dishes. No wilted herbs here: they’re fresh, vibrant, and packed with flavor.

The dishes prepared here are absolutely gorgeous. NHi explains that in Vietnam, street food dishes are usually moderate in size, and she wants to do it just like that: not too overwhelming. And I love it, this way you can pick and choose several dishes and still feel great when you finish. They also have a gorgeous tasting menu that is beautifully presented, and that is perfect for when you want to try a little bit of everything. If you’re around at lunch time they also serve a Menú del Día.

We started with pork skewers, and fried spring rolls, both packed with flavor, fresh, and beautifully served. As the main course, we chose a Bun Cha, a popular street food dish that consists of what look like pork meatballs (you can also choose a veggie option) immersed in a delicious home-made sauce, with rice noodles and lots of veggies and herbs.

And what would a Vietnamese restaurant be without a Bánh Mì? You will not be disappointed with the one it Little Viet. They have several different ones to choose from, each with different flavors and sauces. I will also go back to try the pho, as soon as I can! If you are a vegetarian or vegan, fear not, they have many different options for you.

I have a soft spot for an interesting (non-alcoholic) drink menu; it always says a lot about the attention to detail in a restaurant. I was amazed by the different fun options here, juices with varying mixes of fruits, smoothies, dalgona coffee, and a Vietnamese (Hanoi) specialty that I fell in love with: egg coffee. It was beautifully presented and had such a smooth, sweet flavor, and I’m still dreaming about it.
Go to Little Viet. It’s a lovely experience, and you’ll be very well taken care of.
