About a 45-minute drive from Barcelona, in the middle of the forest, there is a little gem called Nits de Bosc. You drive to Vilassar de Dalt, and from there you take little forest roads until you arrive at Ca La Maria in Cordillera Litoral Nature Reserve.

This 16th-century farmhouse holds a little restaurant and a lovely spa with two pools and a real sauna (and trust me, I know saunas!) that you can book if you wish, and have it all to yourself..! During our stay, we did, and it was absolutely wonderful. The space used to be a winery! There are also four spacious rooms inside the farmhouse.

What is really special about this place is the lovely cabins you can stay in, all separate and away from each other, so that you feel like you are sleeping in the middle of the forest (which you are!). The views from the cabins are lovely, and inside, they are incredibly cozy. They are equipped with both a bathroom and a shower, so you don’t have to leave your cozy little nest. Even breakfast is served in cute baskets to the cabins, filled with fresh orange juice, hot coffee, milk in glass bottles, charcuterie, and fresh croissants.

When you arrive, you get a walkie-talkie and a flashlight: the former if you have questions for the team in the main house (phone reception might be patchy at times), and the latter for when you walk from the main house to your cabin when it’s dark.

The cabins have little porches so that you can sit and admire the view or listen to the birds sing. I was pleasantly surprised by how well-equipped our cabin was, yet still so cozy. A few of them have a bathtub outside to really immerse yourself in a lovely experience.

Next to the main house, there is also a pool, perfect for hot summer days, and in the evenings, you can enjoy dinner in the restaurant. I was surprised at how many options were available: tapas-style dishes to share. We very much enjoyed the homemade desserts!

Nits de Bosc is a wonderful, dreamy escape from the city. You are truly in the middle of the forest, and the cabins are so cozy and comfortable. During our stay, we woke up in the morning to the pitter-patter of raindrops on the cabin roof. It was so dreamy!
