Tempo de l’Hort - A Delicious Escape
By now you know I’m a fan of Cabrils and its food scene; it is only a 35-minute drive from Barcelona, located in DO Alella. One of my absolute favorite restaurants in this cute little town is Tempo de l’Hort; a perfect destination for a Saturday or Sunday getaway.

Tempo de l’Hort is a popular location for special events such as anniversaries, birthdays, and even weddings. The restaurant offers two separate, private rooms for groups, a large space downstairs for larger parties, and a wonderful patio filled with orange trees, perfect for a pica-pica and a glass of cava.

But the restaurant is lovely also for a dinner with your partner or a nice meal with a few friends. They have recently updated their menu, and a new chef runs a tight ship in the kitchen. The food here is surprising and beautifully presented, and their extensive wine menu offers interesting options, including of course local wines from Alella.

The dishes are fresh, and with focus on seasonal ingredients. You can choose between dishes to share (on our recent visit we opted for mostly these!), mains, and also rice dishes. It was high season for peas, and we devoured a delicious octopus with grilled peas that was one of the best I’ve had so far. The succulent rice dish was also delectable, the truffled tortilla, and even the tuna tataki (which I rarely order anywhere) made with Balfegó tuna was memorable.

Tempo de l’Hort is the perfect day trip, and they have spacious private parking which is very convenient if you come by car. Great for a lunch date, or a nice, long meal with family!
