New Origo in Sant Antoni
Origo Bakery has been a success since it opened its doors in 2018, with friends of excellent sourdough and wonderful cinnamon rolls pilgrimaging to their spot in Gràcia (read my review here). And now the owner François de Halleux has, to the delight of all Origo fans, opened a new location in Sant Antoni.

And let me tell you: this new spot is no joke. You might have expected it to be larger than their original bakery, but take whatever you imagined and double it, and that’s Origo in Sant Antoni. Think it probably is really cool? Triple that, and you’re getting close.
The space is not only large but also stunning. The design team is Isern Serra, who is also behind the stunning Fiskebar and many other beautiful spaces. There are two main colors: a beautiful rusty color for the production areas and a soft grey-beige for the shop and cafe area.

When you enter the shop, it’s all sleek and easy on the eyes. The counter is huge, perfect for displaying all the delicious things that are made here. There’s the coffee machine where baristas prepare specialty coffee, and across from it, shelves showcasing local natural wines, sauces, chai blends, and more.

In the far back, there’s a lovely chill-out area where you can take whatever deliciousness you’ve opted for and enjoy it right there. There’s a large window into the production area where you can get a peek at what they are baking.

In terms of the products that come out of the new Origo bakery, you can expect the same quality, if not even better. The ingredients are just as excellent as ever, as Origo always stays true to its roots, even when it’s growing (and thriving!).
Origo is one-of-a-kind, and we’re so fortunate to have it here in Barcelona. And now we have two different locations to pick from!
