The idea grew out of the bookshop’s busy programme of talks, workshops, book clubs and gatherings. After hosting nearly 900 events (!) in its first two and a half years, the team wanted a separate space where they could offer more in-depth classes and quieter programming such as their silent reading events.

The Studio will host multi-session courses, one-off lectures and workshops, language and literature classes, as well as The Writers’ Collective, a membership-based workspace for communal working and members-only programming. The space can also be rented for private workshops, classes and retreats.

It’s a stunning 200 m² modernista apartment with original mosaic floors, volta catalana ceilings, a bright gallery, classroom, study rooms and a communal kitchen.
