Barcelona’s Hi-Fi Bar Boom: 5 Listening Bars to Know Right Now
Barcelona’s hi-fi bar scene has grown quickly over the past couple of years, and it now feels like a real part of the city’s nightlife rather than a passing trend. Inspired partly by Japanese listening bars but usually much more social (and maybe a little bit more loud!), these places put sound, vinyl and music selection at the centre of the experience.
Some are serious listening rooms, others lean more towards cocktails, wine or late-night vibes, but the common thread is that the music is part of the reason you go, not just something playing in the background.
These are the hi-fi and listening bars in Barcelona I think are worth knowing about right now.

Oblicuo Hi Fi Bar
Oblicuo is probably the best example of Barcelona’s current hi-fi bar wave. The sound system is taken very seriously, with a bespoke setup designed specifically for the space, and vinyl sessions are a big part of the experience. The bar side is also an important part of the experience, with good cocktails, natural wine and sake. It is well thought out without being too serious, and if you’re curious about what a true listening bar in Barcelona looks like, this is a very good place to start.

Curtis Audiophile Cafe
Curtis has been doing this for longer than most of the newer arrivals. It’s part audiophile café, part record shop, part listening room, with weekly DJ sessions, a serious vinyl selection, listening points and a sound system built around Klipsch speakers and Technics decks. There’s also a great cocktail list and some food, but music is clearly the main focus. It’s one of the best options if you want the listening side of the experience to feel central rather than decorative.

Jaç Hi-Fi Cafe
Jaç brings the hi-fi idea into the daytime. Inspired by Japanese jazz kissa culture, it combines specialty coffee, food and a carefully designed listening setup in a bright, beautiful space on Diagonal. The music moves through jazz, soul, funk, hip-hop, Brazilian music and more, with vinyl at the centre whenever possible. It’s a much calmer version of the trend, and a good reminder that hi-fi culture in Barcelona isn’t only about late-night bars.

Oasys
OASYS is less of a classic listening bar and more of a full music space, which is why I like to include it. They describe themselves as a creative sanctuary for sound, and the programming ranges from live music and DJ sets to vinyl sessions, salsa, Afro-Latin music and more. There’s a strong community angle here too, and the emphasis is just as much on discovering music and dancing as on simply sitting and listening. It shows how broad Barcelona’s current hi-fi and vinyl scene has become.

Lonely Bar Hi-Fi
Lonely feels like the more intimate, cocktail-led side of the scene. Inspired by Japanese jazz kissa culture, it puts equal emphasis on good sound and serious craft cocktails, with vinyl and DJ sessions throughout the week. The space itself is cosy and low-lit, but the mood is relaxed and easygoing. You can still talk comfortably with friends, which makes it work especially well for a date or a night out when you want great music without the atmosphere feeling too delicate, so to say.
