Kobuta Ramen - Delectable and Authentic

Kobuta Ramen has been nominated as the best ramen in the city by many in the know, but its location in Sants/La Bordeta has kept it under the radar for most. Now they have opened a second restaurant in Eixample, which is much more centrally located.

The owner and chef, Hiroshi Yamane, makes sure that the food here is very authentic. He’s been perfecting his recipes since he first opened in 2017, and in addition to the fantastic ramen, there’s much more to discover on their menu.

Amongst the ramen, you’ll find classics such as miso and shoyu ramen, among others, with broths that are intensely umami and highly addictive. You can choose between a variety of extras to personalize your ramen.

I highly recommend trying the non-ramen dishes as well. Among the smaller dishes (tapas) I’m fond of the wantan: a magical pasta-like dish with leek and sesame. The gyozas are very good, and the chicken karaage incredibly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. You’ll also find various rice dishes such as chashudon; a rice bowl with chashu. Oh, and don’t miss the seasonal specials!

The original location in Sants is very homely, while the new Eixample spot is cozy but still stylish and fresh. There’s a private room in the back for groups which is great.
