Mezz - Funky French Vibes
Mezz is a fun and surprising new addition to the Barcelona food scene. This beautifully renovated space is minimalist but still manages to feel cozy and inviting. The music from the top-notch vintage Hi-Fi system enhances the atmosphere, and the vinyl selection is guaranteed to be well-curated, given the owners' background.

The menu is unique and exciting, especially for anyone tired of seeing the same old dishes in all the new wine bars around town. The chefs are inspired by vintage French cuisine from the 1970s, which I find refreshing and different. It's true comfort food, yet still full of surprises!

As you’d expect, the wines are spot on. They offer interesting natural wines (one I tried immediately made it to my Pet-Nat top list!) and cool cocktails, including some on tap.

The menu changes regularly, depending on what is in season. On our most recent visit we had Choux Wellington: beef Wellington but made into small choux. The Thermidor Croquette were incredible! They are inspired by Lobster Thermidor (read more here in case you’re not familiar with the term), and they’re served with an incredibly addictive sauce. We tried the Steak Tartare with bone marrow and oyster sauce, and wild arugula and loved it (the fries it comes with are also simply perfect), the Confit Pressè lamb had an incredibly well-executed crispy exterior, and the Cordon Bleu was quite a surprise. True to the theme, there’s Crêpe Suzette for dessert.
