Best Craft Beer in Barcelona - 40 Bars and Taprooms! - UPDATED

Barcelona is awesome for fans of craft beer. Microbreweries, bars, brewpubs and restaurants serving craft beers have invaded the city with the speed of light, and you can find great bars in any neighborhood you might find yourself. In addition to the bars there are also events on a weekly basis that attract both local and international breweries to town.

Here are our favorite craft beer bars and taprooms in Barcelona:

Biercab

30 rotating taps and tasty tapas, sounds great, right? This place is a true craft beer paradise, recognized as one of the best in the world (!). There's also a shop next door, good luck with going in there and NOT bringing anything home with you..! Read more about Biercab here.

La Rovira

In Gracia you can find this cosy bar: old school with great staff and a very homey feeling. 15 taps and a fridge full of bottles and cans. There is also food: the sandwiches are creative and delicious. Missa Bar

I’m a big fan of this friendly bar (it’s also dog friendly!) that serves a large assortment of craft beers, both local and international ones. They brew their own brews too, and they have really good natural wine options. And food, if you get hungry!

Bar de Crown Cerveza Barcelona

More than 100 craft beers and tapas, too, not a bad combo! They also organise beer tastings on a regular basis, you can follow them on Instagram at @crown.cerveza.

Galactic Bear Brewing Co

Galactic Bear brews their own beer, and they have a taproom which you can visit, both four tours or just to hang out and drink some beers. They have pub quizes, trivia nights, and other activities, and I thoroughly enjoy the vibes here. They also have a spot called La Més Petita by Galactic Bear (Diputació 30 (Eixample Esquerra).

Noumades

Noumades is quite the temple for those who love good beer, natural wines, and great food. Starting with the beer, they pick out their favorite craft brews (many of them local) and serve them as fresh as they come, straight from the tap. With 14 taps to choose from, you can find their regularly updated selection listed online. Interestingly enough, you can also find beers brewed with hops the owner has picked out, as he buys and distributes hops not only in Spain but also around Europe. Expect some gems if you are a fan of craft beer! Don’t miss out on the burgers!

Sol de Gràcia

This is a shop, so you can’t enjoy your drinks here, but they have a very, very large selection of craft beers, from both local and international breweries. I also go here a lot craft sodas.

This bar might be small but houses many different kinds of craft beer, and also a great selection of Belgian beers.

Bodega Fermin

Bodega Fermin is a charming old bodega turned into a bar with vermouth, craft beer and tapas. Great atmosphere and the beer selection is on point. A must visit in the Barceloneta neighborhood.

Oma Bistró

A few rotating taps with a nice selection of craft beers, bottles and cans too, and amazing cake of course. Brunch and (craft) beer can be a winner combo!

Cerveseria La Més Petita

A small and friendly spot for craft beer on tap and in cans and bottles, and traditional tapas ranging from croquetas to charcuterie boards and bravas, and a few surprises such as the tuna melt. They serve their own beer, too, by Ratpenat Cervesers.

Garage Beer Co

Garage Beer Co has three locations: a busy bar in the city center, a beachfront spot serving beer and pizza in Poblenou, and a brewery in Sant Andreu. It is possibly one of the coolest and most international breweries in Barcelona, and they organize the famous Mash Beer Festival that takes place in Barcelona every autumn. Keep an eye out for their beer releases at the brewery, and other fun events.

Antonia’s Burger X Cyclic Beer Farm

This combo is truly a winner: Antonia’s Burger is one of the best burgers in town, and Cyclic makes fantastic craft beer and natural wines. Truly a perfect spot to spend an evening.

Somewhat off the beaten path but don’t let that scare you. These guys know good craft beer, and they have plenty of options to choose from. They arrange tasting events on occasion.

Many an expat like to hang out here to drink craft beer, watch all kinds of sports, and devour tasty chicken wings.

If you’re looking to drink local craft beer, then this is your place. They have 40 taps focused on local craft beer, most of them brewed on location. They also have some food options, and a terrace outside. Read my review here.

This inviting bar has 18 taps with craft beer, and good cocktails on the menu, including beer infused ones. If you sit by the bar you will most likely find yourself engaged in a conversation with other thirsty beer lovers.

Kaelderkold's sister establishment in the Raval has many, many taps and street food-type dishes for when you get hungry (with great vegan options). It’s a great hangout with friends, and they often have DJ nights for some added cool vibes. Read my review here.

Not only do they brew their own beer here, they also do nice drinks, and tasty food. Make sure to check out their events: they organize all sorts of fun things on a regular basis.

Located in the so called Beerxample (an area in the Eixample neighborhood with a high concentration of craft beer bars), Humble Beer has a g selection of craft beers on tap, a curated selection of bottles and cans, and a menu with local dishes such as cheese and cured meat platters.

La Sitgetana X Orient Street

On a popular street in Sant Antoni you’ll find this great microbrewery and brewpub, with regular events, including music.

This bar might seem tiny from the outside, but you will be surprised when you go inside and see the big space in the back, and the very large selection of bottles and cans in addition to the rotating taps.

Brew Pub Le Sec

A casual and cozy hangout with a fun vibe that will keep you around for a while. The team is friendly, and they brew their own beer, on location.

Almogàver Tap Room

It might be slightly away form the city center, but it is one of the few tap rooms in Barcelona that is open almost every day (except Mondays). In addition to their fresh beers, they also have smash burgers and more on the menu.

Nemesis Craft Brewery

Santa doesn’t sport too many craft beer bars, but Nemesis is a solid choice for those thirsty for a good beer.

La Cervesera Artesana

The first microbrewery in the city: it stems back all the way to 1996. It is a friendly neighborhood hangout, with over 100 different beers from all over the world, including a wide variety of gluten free beers.

Maresme Brewery Taproom

Maresme might be a small brewery, but the taproom is spacious with a good atmosphere, and a kitchen that serves food when you get hungry.

Cerveseria Ogham

Ogham is originally from Argentina, and has found an outpost in Barcelona. They have live music, and have a solid food menu.

This craft beer bar in Poblenou has stellar reviews, and all of their brews are organic and sustainable.

This bar located in Les Corts has more than 120 Belgian craft beers available, and a short bar menu too, mostly focused on cheese and charcuterie boards (and a mini fondue!).

Go here with your growler, fill it up with tasty craft beer, or simply go there to enjoy a pint or many. They also have a good bottle and can selection on their shelves.

Coffee, food, and ales they say, and that’s a wonderful combo, don’t you think? They have a rotating menu of dishes, and 12 taps to pick your beer from.

Espiga Craft Beer Shop

Espiga is a famous local craft beer brewer, and they sport two shops in Barcelona packed with their own brews but also other great breweries around Europe. They do tastings, pairings, and workshops.

An iconic tapas bar in Barceloneta with a mind-blowing solomillo con foie. They brew their own beer and it pure joy to watch the staff pour the beers. They have very few seats so be prepared to stand. This place is quite a classic. Read my review here.

In the restaurant Tabarlot, Cervesa Sant Jordi offers a curated selection of craft beers, and a range of tapas and dishes to share, all made with local ingredients. They also have a lunch menu, and are open all day.
