Best Restaurants for a Group Dinner in Barcelona

Planning a group dinner in Barcelona is one of those things that sounds straightforward until you actually try to do it. You need somewhere with enough space, enough variety on the menu to keep everyone happy, and ideally somewhere that won't make you feel like you're being rushed out the door. These are my picks for group dinners; if you're looking for a broader overview of where to eat in Barcelona right now, that’s here.

If you want to explore all of these on a map before you book, they're all included in my Barcelona Food Map, organized by neighbourhood.

Best restaurants for groups in Barcelona

By the sea

There's something about a group dinner by the water that makes the experience special. Barcelona is lucky to have several good options within easy reach of the beach, but also quick to access.

Can Fisher

Can Fisher is the kind of place you bring people who are visiting Barcelona for the first time and want to feel the full Mediterranean experience. The seafood is excellent, the ingredients are carefully sourced, and the wine list does the food justice. They're experienced with large groups and handle them well — no sense of chaos, just a well-run restaurant that knows what it's doing. Frequented by locals too, which is always a good sign.

Av. del Litoral, 64, Sant Martí, 08005 Barcelona (Barceloneta). Group bookings here.

Ca La Nuri

A classic for a reason. Ca La Nuri has been doing paella and tapas on the Barceloneta seafront for years, and it remains a reliable, crowd-pleasing choice for groups. The sea views are lovely, the food is solid, and it works equally well for a casual group lunch or a more celebratory dinner.

Ca la Nuri, Delante del Hospital del Mar, Pg. Marítim de la Barceloneta (Barceloneta). For group bookings click here.

Manà 75

If your group is after paella, this is the place. The open kitchen runs along the length of the restaurant, and watching the long row of paellas being prepared at once is genuinely impressive — it becomes part of the experience. The atmosphere is young and lively, and there are other dishes on the menu for anyone who isn't in a rice mood. A great pick for a fun, relaxed group dinner.

Pg. de Joan de Borbó, 101, Ciutat Vella, 08039 Barcelona (Barceloneta). Group bookings: click here.

Eldelmar Barcelona restaurant

Eldelmar

One of the most beautiful dining rooms in the city, right by the sea. The wine list is exceptional, and the cocktail area makes it easy to start or end the evening in style. Stunning views, gorgeous interiors, and the kind of atmosphere that makes a group dinner feel like a proper occasion. Behind the menu are the talented Torres brothers. Book well ahead.

Port Olimpic, Moll de Gregal, Local 3 (Poblenou). For groups click here.

Azul Rooftop

360-degree views of the sea and the city from a rooftop in the Barceloneta, with famed chef Romain Fornell who takes the food seriously. It's also a good spot for drinks before or after dinner, which makes it easy to stretch the evening out.

Pg de Joan de Borbo 101, planta 8 (Barceloneta). Click here for more info for groups.

Special occasion

When the dinner needs to feel like an event — a birthday with a significant number attached, an anniversary, a farewell — these are the places to call.

La Dama Barcelona

La Dama

La Dama feels like stepping into a secret apartment inside a Modernist building — the kind of space that makes people gasp a little when they walk in. It's right in the city centre, the Mediterranean menu has dedicated group options, and the overall experience is exactly what you want when you need a dinner to feel special. Book well ahead.

Casa Sayrach, Av. Diagonal 423-425 (Eixample Esquerra). For groups, click here.

Terraza Martínez

Perched on Montjuïc with sweeping views over the port and the city, Terraza Martínez is the kind of restaurant that impresses before anyone has even looked at the menu. The rice dishes and tapas are excellent, and they have solid experience with private events and celebrations. A genuinely lovely place to mark an occasion.

Ctra. de Miramar 38 (Montjuïc). Group bookings here.

Veraz

Inside the Barcelona Edition, Veraz is elegant without being stuffy — a chef-driven kitchen focused on locally sourced ingredients, a beautiful dining room, and the kind of reliable quality that makes it a safe choice for a group where expectations are high.

Av. de Francesc Cambó, 14 (Born). For bookings click here.

Casa+Rafols+Barcelona

Casa Ràfols, Barcelona. Photo © Barcelona Food Experience.

Casa Ràfols

The building was a hardware store a century ago, and the bones of that history are still visible in the most charming way. Casa Ràfols has private salons for groups, which makes it a great option if you want something that feels contained and special rather than a large open dining room. Local dishes, a beautiful interior, and a speakeasy downstairs if the evening calls for it.

Rda de Sant Pere 74 (Arc de Triomf). More info for spaces for groups click here.

Lively and fun

For groups that want atmosphere as much as food: somewhere with energy, noise (the good kind), and a sense that everyone is having a good time.

Fismuler

Always lively, always beautiful, and with a menu that has something for everyone. Fismuler is one of those restaurants where the energy of the room becomes part of the meal. The famous cheesecake for dessert is non-negotiable. Choose the Groups option when booking.

Carrer de Rec Comtal 17 (Born). For bookings click here.

Molino de Pez

Sister restaurant to a classic Madrid establishment, Molino de Pez has an open kitchen, a lively atmosphere, and a menu that leans into seasonal ingredients done well. It works equally well for visitors and locals, and the energy of the room makes it a natural fit for a group that wants to feel like they're somewhere genuinely good.

Carrer Còrsega 346 (Eixample Dreta). Group bookings: menus and bookings see here.

Parking Sotano Barcelona

Parking Sótano

A different kind of steakhouse — you choose your cut, the open kitchen does the rest, and the creative sides are the kind of thing you end up talking about after. Perfect for a group of meat lovers who want a proper dinner with some theatre to it.

Benzina Barcelona

Benzina

Benzina is the one to book for a birthday. The cocktails are excellent, the music sets the tone, the vibes are high, and the food keeps up. It's a full evening rather than just a meal — exactly what you want when there's something to celebrate.

Passatge de Pere Calders 6, Barcelona (Sant Antoni). Read my full review here.

Pizza and casual

Sometimes a group just wants great food, no fuss, and the freedom to order another round without feeling like they're overstaying their welcome.

Trafalgar+Pizza+Club+Barcelona

Trafalgar Pizza Club

A large space with two bars, private areas available for groups, and very good artisan pizza. The setup is designed for exactly this kind of occasion: it’s relaxed, fun, with enough room that a group of 10 or 15 (or more!) doesn't feel squeezed.

Carrer de Trafalgar, 19 (Eixample Dreta). Read my full review here.

Parking+Pizza+Barcelona

Parking Pizza

Several locations across the city, communal tables, casual atmosphere and consistently good pizza. The communal table setup is actually ideal for groups: everyone ends up talking, and there's none of the awkwardness of trying to coordinate across a long table. A reliable, lively choice.

Bar Anita Barcelona

Bar Anita

Local, seasonal dishes that change with what's good at the market, a nice terrace on a pedestrian street, and a team that knows how to handle a group without making it feel like a production. A great neighbourhood option for a relaxed dinner with friends.

Something different

For groups who want an experience beyond a standard restaurant; somewhere with a story, a setting, or a setup that makes the dinner feel like an occasion in itself.

Hotel Villa Emilia Rooftop Terrace

Villa Emilia

A boutique hotel with a rooftop terrace that can be booked privately for groups. They'll adapt the menu to your needs, the cocktail bar keeps the drinks flowing, and there's a grill for when the evening calls for it. It's the kind of setup that works for everything from a corporate dinner to a wedding. Family-owned, friendly, and flexible.

Planta Baja

Inside the Primero Primera hotel, which was once a family home, and you can still feel that in the space, filled with curiosities and personal objects from the family that lived there. Planta Baja is loved by locals, has a separate salon for larger groups, and offers the kind of cozy setting with lots of character that makes a group dinner feel like more than just dinner.

Carrer del Dr. Carulla 27 (Sarrià-Sant Gervasi). More info here.

Café de l'Arquitecte

Inside Hotel Casa Sagnier, the former home of Enric Sagnier, one of Barcelona's most prolific architects. The building alone is worth the visit, and the restaurant does it justice: seasonal food, good ingredients, a beautiful space. Loved by locals, and a genuinely interesting story to tell your group over dinner.
