Best Churros and Hot Chocolate in Barcelona
What would life in Barcelona be like without churros? Nothing I say. So without further ado, here is a list of all of the best places for churros in Barcelona, and most of them serve hot chocolate too, because you can’t really have one without the other, am I right? Make sure you plan your churros run beforehand, some places even have a queue of churraholics before they open.

La Nena
This cafe in Gracia is a friendly hangout for friends and families, there is even a play room in the back should you want to bring the little ones. No alcohol is served in this establishment, but who needs a drink when you have freshly made churros available? They’re crispy and light (in weight that is) and come with a cup of thick hot chocolate.

Granja M Viader
It first opened in 1870 and is a true classic. If you’re craving something savory don’t miss their bikini, it’s simple but unforgettable. And obviously they serve churros and hot chocolate, with a big dollop of cream if that’s what you are into. They also invented the famous Cacaolat here, a chocolate drink usually served cool.

Another very popular establishment where you can get your churros for very cheap. Check their hours beforehand as they take quite a long break during the day.

Granja Dulcinea
Located on the chocolate street of Barcelona, Carrer Petritxol, this cafe has an elegantly dressed staff and wonderful, thick chocolate. The place has a rustic feel to it and is very cozy especially in winter. It used to be a favorite hangout for Dali..! It opened already in 1941.

Xurrería Manuel San Román
There is often a long line here with people waiting to get their churros fix at this establishment that first opened in 1968. Getting your churros to go, in a paper cone, is your best bet. Their nutella churros are highly recommendable. This place became insanely popular when a Korean K-Pop star visited the spot!

Granja La Pallaresa
This place opened already 1947 and they for sure know what they are doing, and gets very busy during peak hours. Make sure to order the hot chocolate with whipped cream on top for that sweet, sweet kick!

Xurreria Trebol
This little shop is open around the clock on Saturdays, since many a partygoer loves a sweet little snack on their way home from the club. Many claim it’s the best churros shop in Barcelona.

Churreria J. Alpuente
This family business that has been around since 1963 has quite a presence on Instagram and TikTok (27 million likes!), where the current owner Juan shows his daily life preparing churros. But regardless of how viral this place might be, it’s still the real deal and very much worth visiting. It is a small food-truck type of spot.
