New Restaurants Autumn 2025

It’s here, the Autumn 2025 edition of new restaurants in Barcelona! Can you believe more than 140 new places have opened lately?! We have a VERY famous Japanese ramen chain that has landed in the city, wonderful traditional Catalan dishes with modern twists, artisanal ice cream, omakase, charming cafes, Cuban food (yes!), dedicated matcha spots, an exiting takeaway spot with an Istanbulesque kitchen, Chinese dumplings, a mind-blowing dinner experience in a secret location, a cafe and test kitchen combo, gorgeous spaces.... Time to start booking tables!

PS: I haven’t been to all of these obviously, ain’t nobody got time for that. I want this post to be informative and you can pick out the ones that sound interesting to you. I have visited all the ones with my photos, and below in My To Go-list I’ve added the spots that I’m prioritizing my visit to, they sound awesome! Are you missing a spot that should be on this list? Drop me a line!

MY TO-GO LIST

BAR[R]A is a natural wine bar with plenty of personality, located in a quiet corner of Gràcia. No wine list, no fuss, just ask at the bar and let them pour you something fun. The food is more than just an afterthought: think croquetas with 36-month Comté and pear chutney, duck toasties, or clams in cava with salicornia. Plates lean bold and French/Mediterranean, the vibe’s relaxed, and the team’s clearly having fun. Carrer de Ros de Olano 4 bis (Gràcia). IG: @barra.barcelone.

Casa Fiero is the latest project from the team behind Maleducat (read my review of Maleducat here), carrying that same welcoming warmth and thoughtful flavor into a slightly more intimate setting, with a nod to the traditional. Chef Víctor Ródenas and his kitchen offer dishes like ensaladilla rusa and bravas alongside standout bites such as steak tartar, macarrones, or whole grilled fish. There’s also a cocktail menu. Carrer de Londres 89 (Eixample Esquerra). IG: casafiero_.

Jazminos is a Middle Eastern restaurant that first opened in Bilbao a few years ago, and now they have opened a spot here in Barcelona, too. It looks minimalist and beautiful, and I’ve heard wonderful things about the food. Find Jazminos on Madrazo 32 (Sarrià-Sant Gervasi). IG: @jazminos.bcn.

El Rectangle looks like a lovely new spot with natural wine and elegant little plates. You can see the chefs working behind the counter, which I always love. Apparently they have been hitting it out of the park from day 1. Definitely one to check out soon. Carrer de Sepúlveda, 23 (Sant Antoni). IG: @elrectangle.

I love Ultramarinos Marin (read my review here), and now they have a little sister establishment next door called Ultrapaninos Marin, with their freshly baked bread and charcuterie made in house. It looks fantastic. C/ Balmes 189 (Sarrià-Sant Gervasi). IG: @ultrapaninosmarin.

Awesome Omu in Gràcia has a new sister spot, but very different and I am excited to check it out. It’s called Kome Deli, and it opens both during the day and during the night. Coffee, wine, sandwiches (the katsu sando intrigues me)… Ronda General Mitre 152 (Putxet). IG: @kome_deli.

Paloma Gracia is a new Mexican restaurant in Gràcia, and the reviews are raving. The dishes are full of bold flavors and unexpected combinations: No burritos or nachos here, just really well-executed plates and a drinks list with fun and exciting options. Chef Paloma Ortiz spearheads this project with grupo Mudo (Entrepanez Diaz, Mutis, Bar Mut). Carrer de Bonavista 21 (Gràcia). IG: @palomagracia___

Sip Coffee Roasters have opened in the Raval, on Pintor Fortuny 22, AND on Carrer d’Amigo 18 (Sarrià-Sant Gervasi). It looks lovely with vinyls spinning, and I’m intrigued by the Bumblebee brew with orange juice and the Matcha Citric with grapefruit. IG: @sip.coffeeroasters. PS: It’s owned by a FCB basket player Nicolás Laprovíttola.

El Slo Café - Plenty of light in this new cafe in Hostafrancs, designed by Curullar (they always create such beautiful spaces!). Specialty coffee, pet friendly, and various interesting events. C/ Forn 1 (Sants-Montjuic). IG: @elslo.cafe.

I’ve heard lots of good things about Anis, a charming Lebanese spot serving specialty coffee, Lebanese San, natural wines, beautiful cakes… Find them on Carrer de Pontevedra 25 (Barceloneta). IG: @anis_barceloneta.

Super cute and Nordic style Wanna offers breakfast, specialty coffee, wine, and events. They now also open in the evenings for a bite to eat. IG: @wanna.bcn. C/ Hermenegild 2 (Sarrià-Sant Gervasi).

Drops of Jupiter has not only a lovely name, they also do breakfasts and lunch, and specialty coffee. It seems spacious and cool. Carrer de Valencia 350 (Eixample Dreta). IG: @dropsofjupiter.es.

The team behind Ikenocha has opened a second space called Ikenocha Fusion, and this one’s all about fusion: ceremonial-grade matcha, specialty coffee, and beautiful vegan desserts by Dates & Avocados. The sleek, minimalist interior invites you to stay a little longer, enjoying their perfectly prepared matcha creations and something sweet or savory on the side. Read my review of Ikenocha here. Expect the same calm and quality as the original, but with a slightly bolder, more indulgent twist. Av. Diagonal 593-595 (Les Corts). IG: @ikenocha.fusion.

A new opening from barista Jianit Cai (@jianit_cai), Ámbar is a specialty café serving great coffee (multi roaster!) in a peaceful Provença corner spot. Jianit is an award-winning barista with a dedicated team, and the quality is already drawing attention despite Ámbar still flying under the radar. Provença 341 (Eixample Dreta). IG: @ambar_specialtycoffee.

Handy Bakery is a small sourdough-focused bakery in a quiet corner near Gràcia. You’ll find beautiful loaves, focaccia, cardamom buns, and creative specials depending on the day. There’s also great coffee and a few seats if you’re lucky. A calm and welcoming space that’s quickly becoming a local favorite. Carrer del Torrent de les Flors 36 (Gràcia). IG: @handybakery_

UMO is an intimate 11-seat tasting bar where Japanese technique meets Mediterranean produce. The space is elegant, minimal, with a small open kitchen and a playlist curated with care. At the helm is Alex Vall, who spent eight years at Kak Koy before staging at the legendary Kikunoi in Kyoto under Yoshihiro Murata. He runs the restaurant alongside Jordi, formerly of Koy Shunka. Carrer de Reus 25 (Sarrià-Sant Gervasi). @umo_alexvall.

Chef Matteo Bertozzi was working for 8 years in My Fucking Restaurant, and opened a new, smaller, and very personal project called Atipical in Poblenou. The theme is slow food, and local and seasonal ingredients. 100% a restaurant I want to try. It opens for both lunch and dinner. C/ Llull 259 (Poblenou). IG: @atipicalbcn.

La Rola describes itself as vermouth and vinyls, and that’s a combo that’s pretty attractive to me. They organise events on the regular. Comte Borrell 35 (Sant Antoni). IG: @larola.bcn.

Possibly the most unexpected news this autumn is that the very famous ramen chain Ippudo is opening a restaurant in Barcelona..! Can you believe it?! In case you’re not familiar, Ippudo opened its first ramen shop in 1985 in the Hakata neighborhood of Fukuoka, Japan. It was founded by Shigemi Kawahara, often referred to as the “Ramen King,” and quickly became known for its rich, creamy tonkotsu ramen. Since then, it has expanded internationally with locations in cities like New York, Singapore, and London, always keeping a focus on quality, warm hospitality, and that original Hakata spirit. Their soft opening is from September 11th to 14th. For now they’re opening in the evening only. Carrer de la Diputació 164, (Eixample Esquerra). IG: @ippudobcn.

Azah Barcelona

Azah, Barcelona. Photo © Barcelona Food Experience.

Barcelona just got its first Lebanese gelateria, and it’s a beauty. At Azah, the flavours lean Mediterranean and Middle Eastern, with ice creams like orange blossom, thyme, baklava, and achta (Lebanese cream). They’re finished with crunchy pistachio and mastic for extra texture and aroma. It’s a refreshing new addition to Enric Granados. Enric Granados 61 (Eixample Esquerra). IG: @azah.bcn.

Inside a new Concept Barre on C/ València 293 (Eixample Esquerra) there’s a place called Pure Bar serving coffee and healthy treats. They are a part of the Raw Studio family. IG: @purebarbcn.

El Roca, Barcelona. Photo © Barcelona Food Experience.

El Roca is a lovely and welcoming bar that is also easy on the eyes. They serve Catalan cuisine, lots of interesting drinks, and a wall covered with vinyl records. I’ve only had drinks here which I enjoyed, but will go back for the food, it looked good. Provença 63 (Eixample Esquerra). IG: elroca.bcn.

Chica Cheesecake first opened in Granollers, and after its success there it has now also opened a second spot here in Barcelona, on Consell de Cent 354 (Eixample Esquerra). Dumpling lovers, look here! Dumpling XI has 799 restaurants in China, and now they’ve opened #800 in Barcelona - I think we’re pretty lucky. IG: @dumplingxispain.

GueBar is an offering Nikkei cuisine, with a bar for only 10 guests, and where chef David Guebar prepares interesting dishes from a menu with less than 15 dishes. Sounds cool. C/ Viladomat 249 (Eixample Esquerra). IG: @gue.bar.

With a focus on handmade pastas, seasonal produce, and natural wines, Gloria Osteria brings regional Italian flavors to life in a setting that’s warm, lively, and just the right amount of nostalgic. Gyojasang comes from gyoja (dumpling) and sang (table), and it's all about coming together to share food, drinks and conversation. The space is inspired by Seoul: think K-pop energy and tables built for Korean BBQ, with gogi-gui grills for cooking at the center. Fried chicken is a must, but so are the seafood pancakes, gimbap and sizzling platters of wagyu and pork belly. There’s two locations, both great for groups. C/ de Mallorca 182 and C/ de Aragó 238 (both Eixample Esquerra). IG: @gyojasang.es.

Frenético serves up brunch by day, and burgers by night. They do specialty coffee, and also cocktails, to cover both your cravings. Keep an eye out for their events! Muntaner 26 (Eixample Esquerra). IG: @frenetico_bcn.

It’s an exciting new direction that puts all the focus on the precision and elegance of his craft. Expect seasonal ingredients, flawless technique, and a friendly, welcoming approach. An important move from an excellent chef. We loved our experience here. Carrer de Calàbria 204 (Eixample Exquerra). IG: @fukamurabcn.

Nori Matcha Barcelona

Nori Matcha, Barcelona. Photo © Barcelona Food Experience.

I’m excited to announce the opening of Nori Matcha: as you know I’m an avid matcha fan and I was very excited to try it. Their drink options are fun (leaning towards matcha obviously), and they also have food. We tried their matcha pancakes and they didn’t disappoint. You can choose the type of matcha you want for your drink, and you can also buy some to take home with you. C/ Sardenya 198 (Eixample Dreta). IG: @norinorimatcha.

There’s something intriguing about new premium chocolate, artisan gelato and coffee spot Slitti. They date back all the way from 1969, and the have won over 200 awards for their chocolate. I think we need more pralines in our lives, don’t you? They deliver around Spain. A reader told me it’s the best chocolate they’ve had. Provença 271 (Eixample Dreta). IG: @slitti.barcelona.

Franca Barcelona

Franca, Barcelona. Photo © Barcelona Food Experience.

Franca has received plenty of raving reviews, and no wonder: both the concept and the food are spot on. Three young chefs from a background of high-end restaurants have come together to do their thing, and they execute it in an exciting, fun way that fuses the traditional with the modern. It’s one of the best surprises this year in my opinion. They also serve a lunch menu! Roger de Llúria 46 (Eixample Dreta). IG: @francabarcelona.

There’s a new Italian restaurant in town, with a non-stop kitchen (!), called Ana’s. It an also serves as a cocktail bar with beautiful craft cocktails. The Frutti di Mare looks very, very good, as does the carpaccio with foie gras, caramelized onion, and pistachios. Diputación 269 (Eixample Dreta). IG: @anasrestaurantbcn.

Jaç Barcelona

Jaç, Barcelona. Photo © Barcelona Food Experience.

I wasn’t expecting to love this place as much as I did, but wow — the matcha was one of the creamiest I’ve had in a while, and the space is beautiful. Jaç is a specialty coffee spot with great hi-fi sound (jazz playing through the speakers when I visited), friendly service, and a minimal interior that still feels cozy. There’s a shared table if you want to work, but most of the space is laptop-free — I loved seeing people just sit and read. It’s been buzzing since day one, and for good reason. The space is designed by famed Isern Serra. Avinguda Diagonal 335 (Eixample Dreta). IG: @jac.barcelona.

Moku brings healthy food in form of salads and sandwiches, and includes vegan options on their menu. Carrer de Provença 366 (Eixample Dreta). IG: @moku.barcelona.

Cafe Balzac is a new café inspired by literature, design, and the pleasure of sitting down with a notebook and a great coffee. It is absolutely stunning, with deep burgundy walls, Carrara marble, and dim, elegant lighting. Definitely a spot to write, think, or just watch the world go by. And their special drink creations are worth the splurge: the ingredients are chosen very carefully, both for the food and the drinks. The owner, José, is incredibly sweet and always looks impeccable. There is a dedicated space if you come to work. IG: @balzacbarcelona. Pg. de St. Joan, 127 (Eixample Dreta).

Norico blends sushi, brunch, and cocktails in a sleek, centrally located space from the team behind Nori Japan. Expect maki rolls alongside eggs Benedict, all-day service, and a vibe that leans more cosmopolitan than traditional. A solid option for casual daytime dining that moves into cocktails at night. Ona Barcelona

Ona, Barcelona. Photo © Barcelona Food Experience.

Ona, Barcelona. Photo © Barcelona Food Experience.

Ona is currently one of the most magical dining experiences in Barcelona, with only six seats and a 17-course (approx.) menu by Australian chef Jack Tonkin. I loved it so much I’ve been twice: first sharing the table with strangers (who quickly felt like friends), and then again for a private dinner where I booked the whole table for myself and five friends (highly recommend doing that too). Every detail is beautifully considered, from the ingredients to the handmade tableware, and no two nights are the same. There’s so much to say about this unique and ephemeral moment, to find out more you can read my review of this unforgettable experience here. They’ll share the location when you book.

New Kaapeh House is beautiful, and perfect for any caffeine lover with lots of specialty coffee options. They also do brunch and lunch, and I for one want to have the strawberry matcha latte and anything delish from their menu. Rambla de Poblenou 121 (Poblenou). IG: @kaapeh.house.

Esnaf, Barcelona. Photo © Barcelona Food Experience.

Esnaf has brought something very charming to Poblenou: a coffee, pastry, and lunch takeaway but with its own lovely personality and delicious and unique proposal. It calls itself an Istanbulesque kitchen, with inspiration from around the Mediterranean. Everything is prepared in their spacious kitchen, and you can sit down on the benches and tables on the pedestrian street outside (they also have a few chairs inside). There are also shelves with natural wines, fermented items, and even ceramics that you can buy to take home with you. Don’t miss this one. IG: @esnaf.barcelona. Roc Boronat 102 (Poblenou). IG: @esnaf.barcelona.

Entrepreneur, Barcelona. Photo © Barcelona Food Experience.

Entrepreneur is a restaurant specialized in contemporary gastronomy inspired in traditional Catalan cuisine. Their kitchen is open all day, which is appreciated, especially in Poblenou. I throughly enjoyed my experience here: it’s one of those modern-but-traditional restaurants that execute everything perfectly but isn’t too hard on the wallet. The macarrones are fantastic. Carrer de Pujades 85 (Poblenou). IG: @entrepreneurrestaurant.

The team behind La Carioca in the Barceloneta has opened a restaurant in Poblenou called Padoca, with a breakfast, brunch, and lunch menu. IG: @padocabcn. Plaza Julio González 3 (Poblenou).

Dreamboat, Barcelona. Photo © Barcelona Food Experience.

Dreamboat Bar & Deli in Poblenou is playful, laid-back, and full of heart, where “Every day is a holiday” actually feels true. The cocktails are fun and creative (don’t miss the float or the cold brew piña colada), and the 5-cheese grilled cheese with chipotle mayo hits the spot. I’m incredibly addicted to their pickle soda..! The space is beautifully put together with second-hand finds, and the team regularly hosts DJ sets and pop-up events that make you want to come back again and again. Read my review here. C/ Llacuna 136 (Poblenou, just next to Diagonal). IG: @dreamboat_bar.

Bar Super is the latest from the Colombo brothers, known for Xemei and Bar Brutal, and it brings something completely different to the city. Located across from Mercat de Santa Caterina, it serves market-driven dishes and (of course!) natural wines in a beautiful, modern space with a warm vibe. I loved everything we tried on our visit, and please leave room for dessert. Read my review here. Plaça de Santa Caterina, 3 (La Ribera). IG: @barsuperbarcelona.

The Circle is an intimate cocktail bar that invites you into a velvety world of secrets and craft drinks. Behind the polished wooden walls and low lighting, the bartenders prepare cocktails inspired by the stories guests choose to share. It’s part speakeasy, part immersive experience, and very hush-hush. AND female run! AND a kitchen! Carrer Ample, 31 (Gòtic). IG: @by_thecircle.

Much-loved Agreste has now moved into the Serras hotel where it’s called Agreste Mar. Their Italian-Catalan cuisine has charmed the pants off everyone who has visited them, and I have no doubts their success will continue here. IG: @restaurante_agrestemar. Passeig Colom 9 (Gòtic).

Boka House is a new restaurant in Sarrià-Sant Gervasi, a cute little spot on two floors. Carrer de Santalò 26. IG: @bokahousebcn.

Cukens Cafetería feels like stumbling into a corner bakery in Buenos Aires, but right here in Barcelona. They serve Argentinian pastries, empanadas, alfajores, sweets and strong coffee in a friendly, neighborhood café. I’m intrigued by their sweet and savory offerings, especially the filled croissants and empanadas. Carrer de Ronda del General Mitre, 205 (Sarrià‑Sant Gervasi). IG: @cukenscafe.

Som, Barcelona. Photo © Barcelona Food Experience.

Som has taken over the beautiful and spacious place where Aeroplano used to be, and are offering specialty coffee, bar plates, and analog music with vinyls and a great sound system. We tried their breakfast menu and really enjoyed the very unexpected avocado toast that was finished at the table (so cool!), and the French Toast was the softest, dreamiest thing. There’s a lot more coming to this space, including a broader menu, very soon. Muntaner 423 (Sarrià-Sant Gervasi). IG: @som_bcn.

Macambo is a new Peruvian fine dining restaurant in Sant Gervasi, led by chef Roberto Sihuay. It looks sleek and modern, with a beautiful private dining room and a terrace out front. IG: @relleno.es.

Oysters Menorca, Barcelona. Photo © Barcelona Food Experience.

Oysters Menorca, true to its name, stems from Menorca where they have run a successful restaurant for some time, but now they have expanded to Barcelona and we are thrilled! It’s a treat for seafood lovers. And all the dishes, plates, trays, and displays are so beautiful and thought through. We had their oysters, obviously: they have many different kinds to pick from, from different countries, and are served with different sauces. I highly recommend the fun Bloody Mary oyster shots. The shrimp cocktail is beautifully presented, and the assortment of smoked fish s served with a wasabi mayonnaise that adds. to the thrill. My favorite was the crab brioche, and I can’t wit to go back and try the caviar tower. They have a little terrace outside, too. I loved the experience: it felt celebratory but wasn’t crazy expensive. It also felt like a bit of a secret, the guests were all locals, and the team was very friendly. Try to snag a seat by the bar to see all the action. C/ Madrazo 54 (Sari-Sant Gervasi). IG: @oystersmenorca.

Monica Jubells has opened a bakery called Jubells Pastissería with pastries, cakes, and plenty of creativity. Carrer Dènia 21 (Sarrià-Sant Gervasi). IG: @jubellspastisseria.

They do have sandwiches on the menu though, just in case you really feel like having one in between cocktails. Carrer de Tuset, 17 (Sarrià-Sant Gervasi). IG: @focacha.bcn.

The much-anticipated sister restaurant by Berbena, Pompa, has opened its doors. Somewhat low key, but considering Berbena’s fan base, it doesn’t need much more. The space is beautiful, cool, and cozy (slightly smaller than its predecessor), has optional bar seating, a vinyl record player with vinyls playing… The wines (the list is LONG) are in focus here, and the menu is, I feel, slightly more risqué than Berbena. I loved every single dish we ordered, and was blown away by something very unexpected: the salad. Carrer de Sèneca, 25, (Gràcia). IG: @pompabcn.

Popis is a new focacceria in Gràcia, with ingredients made from scratch by Sofía and Gastón. Their star ingredient is smoked meat. It is also a café with specialty coffee, matcha, and medialunas. Torrent de l’Olla 94 (Gràcia). IG: @popisbcn.

Formerly known as Ruuuts, The Net Zero Wine Bar blends a love for natural wine with a mission for zero-emissions hospitality. The space features an open kitchen, a minimal aesthetic, and a strong commitment to sustainability, including tree planting and carbon offsetting. The concise menu is ingredient-led and seasonal. Sounds perfect to me. Carrer de Vallfogona, 10 (Gràcia). IG: @thenetzerowinebar.

Manis, El Cubano feels like the Cuban sandwich scene we’ve been waiting for in Barcelona—crispy outside, juicy and melting inside, with bold flavors that feel both homey and exciting. It’s tiny and intimate, a little treasure in El Putxet. Seems that this little spot has already made a big impression. Carrer de Sant Gervasi de Cassoles, 15 (El Putxet). IG: @manis.elcubano.

SANT ANDREU, PORT FORUM, EL CLOT, SAGRADA FAMILIA

3 Portes is a cool-looking restaurant serving traditional Chinese food, and the style of the place is very different from what we know so far for Chinese restaurants in Barcelona. Love it! The food looks very good and I’ve heard it’s authentic and delicious. Carrer del Clot 213 (Sant Andreu).

OUTSIDE THE CITY

A seasonal kitchen with a strong natural wine list, La Lleona Salada is set just a few minutes from the beach in the coastal town of Altafulla, near Tarragona. They use only Mexican ingredients, for the most authentic flavors. Their motto is that homesickness can only be cured with (good) Mexican food. You can find them in Glovo!
