New Restaurants in Barcelona - Spring 2026 (108 new openings)

It’s here, the Spring 2026 edition of new restaurants in Barcelona! Can you believe 108 new places have opened lately?! We have Chilean food, a traditional Japanese tea house, two fan favorites that have opened brick-and-mortars, a rum bar with great food, apple strudel, several new omakase, lots of natural wine spots, an ice cream lab, Nordic tapas, a few classic revivals, matcha and pilates, bars with vinyl… Time to start booking tables!

PS: I haven’t been to all of these obviously, ain’t nobody got time for that. I want this post to be informative and you can pick out the ones that sound interesting to you. I have visited all the ones with my photos, and below in My To Go-list I’ve added the spots that I’m prioritizing my visit to, they sound awesome! Are you missing a spot that should be on this list? Drop me a line!

MY TO-GO LIST

Barra Oso is a spot open both for lunch and dinner (the menu looks GOOD, with cured scallops and toasted beurre blanc sauce: think Catalan but French techniques), and they also do vinyl sets. They have a sister restaurant in Begúr that opened not long ago called Trozo de Oso. I’ve heard great things about this one. IG: @barraoso_. C/Muntaner 248 (Sarrià-Sant Gervasi).

Ikenocha (which I LOVE!) is expanding to its third location, and this one is called Ikenoan, on Diagonal 353 (Eixample Dreta). It will be a traditional Japanese teahouse, how cool is that? Can’t wait to see the new place, and enjoy their matcha! IG: @ikenoan.

Raval is a hotspot right now for interesting new openings, such as Tacos Guzmán. They serve street food done just like in Tijuana, with fresh flour tortillas, sauces, and more. Will definitely visit. Sant Pau 27 (Raval). IG: @tacosguzmanbcn.

Auto Rosellon closed and in its place you can now find Superauto, also spearheaded by chef Ronit Stern. Freestyle cuisine and natural wines they say, for now open in the evenings, midday on Fridays, and all day (almost) on weekends. The food looks exciting, and different from its predecessor. C/ del Roselló 182 (Eixample Esquerra).

Like Santa Magdalena in Gràcia? I do. They have now opened a sister restaurant called Piropo Bistro, with a similar idea: straightforward, local dishes, but with a touch of playfulness. The wine list is long, and there’s music on vinyl. C/ Topazi 18 (Gràcia). IG: @piropobistro.

Fan favorite Osaka Bang (known from festivals and pop-ups) has opened a brick-and-mortar! This is so exciting, can’t wait to see what it’s like. The location is Carrer d’Aldana 9 (Sant Antoni).

Taberna Nardi is run by Grup Amicks (Sr. Antúnez, Casa Pepi, Pimentel, Culkin, V de Vermut) and it definitely seems to fit the bill when it comes to good, fun food (seafood specifically) and drinks. C/ dels Corders 11 (Born). IG: @tabernanardi.

Petit Bleu is a little French cheese shop where you can also sit down and eat (cheeseboards, a grilled cheese sandwich, etc) and enjoy a glass of wine or two. Carrer d’Entença 116B (Eixample Esquerra). IG: @petitbleu.bcn.

A plant-based Persian restaurant opened in Sants, and I’m counting the days to go and try it. It looks delicious and comforting, and it’s called Noush. Carrer d’Olzinelles 100 (Sants). IG: @noush_barcelona.

Very close to La Boqueria, more specifically in the Hotel Condal, there’s a new restaurant called Finorri. They have great chefs at the helm who prepare modern Catalan dishes with a seasonal flair, and an excellent wine list. They also serve cocktails from 12h to 23h. It looks elegant, and I’ve heard it’s really good! C/ de la Boqueria 23 (el Raval). IG: @finorrirestaurant.

Bornès shows that Born is on fire these days! The location is cute, in a little corner in the neighborhood, and inside it looks charming, too. Ryushio is a new omakase with two seating options: by the bar (recommended, of course, for an omakase), or one of the tables. Upstairs the fare is more modern and fusion, and downstairs that is currently under renovation, is where you’ll find the very authentic, more traditional omakase. C/ Santaló 88 (Sarrià-Sant Gervasi). Zaatar & Co changed their name to Z & Co, and they are still on Balmes, but now you’ll find that they’ve also opened a deli on Guillem Tell 38 (Sarrià-Sant Gervasi). I really like their food! IG: @zandco.es.

Amazing gluten free bakery La Consciente has expanded into a whole bakery and brunch kind of thing in Gràcia! The dishes look great, and they’re all fully plant based, in addition to being gluten free. I can’t wait to go. Find them on Gran de Gràcia 203. IG: @laconsciente.bcn.

La Papa has opened its fourth location, this one in a darker style, on Carrer de Trafalgar 56 (Eixample Dreta). IG: @lapapabarcelona.

Popular, top-notch restaurant Mantis has now a bar in the same space serving Asian fusion tapas, for if you’d like to try out their gastronomy in a more casual manner, without reservations. The dishes look fantastic. Carrer de Paris 145 (Eixample Esquerra). IG: @mantisbcn.

Fans of El Magnifico rejoice! They have opened a shop on Rambla Catalunya (124, Eixample Esquerra), where you can get your coffee AND also teas from Sans & Sans. They’ve been roasting coffee since 1962, isn’t that cool? IG: @cafeselmagnifico.

Piparra Bar has opened a second spot by Passeig Sant Joan, on Carrer del Consell de Cent, 429 (Eixample Dreta). A lovely addition for good, local, seasonal food, especially for this area. IG: @piparra_bar.

Hidden Coffee Roasters have done something very cool: they’ve taken over the space that used to host the legendary Granja Vendrell that first opened in 1921, and it’s now called Granja Hidden. It looks beautiful! They offer not only great coffee (as expected), but also sandwiches and small dishes. They’ve also included the famed Vendrell cream and are adding it in on the menu in the for of “Café Vienés con nata”. I love this. C/ Girona 59 (Eixample Dreta). IG: @hiddencoffeeroasters.

China Crown has been quite a success in Barcelona, and now they have a sister restaurant called Mandarin Palace. Classic Chinese gastronomy is to be expected, in a beautiful setting. Av. de Sarrià, 10 (Les Corts). IG: @mandarinpalacebcn.

Mood Coffee Barcelona

Mood Brunch has opened a cute second location called Mood Coffee in Urquinaona, more specifically on Ronda de Sant Pere 54 (Eixample Dreta). The space is really nice (love the blue and cream) and the pastries are delish. IG: @moodbrunch.

There’s a Mexican restaurant called Salsa that has opened a second location on Muntaner 124 (Eixample Esquerra). This one brings a touch of a listening bar where you can enjoy music while you are dining. The chef, Santiago Giralt, has a past in Alkimia and Alkostat. IG: @estasentusalsa.

Not a restaurant but worth mentioning: Backstory Bookshop has a new member of the family, this is wonderful news! I love this shop, and now they’ve opened Backstory: The Shortlist with a handpicked curation of their favourite reads. Read my review of Backstory here. Find them on Carrer del Rec 46 (Born). IG: @backstorybookshop.

CLOSINGS

Sadly, sustainable shop Yes Future Positive Supermarket will close its doors in the end of this month. Very unfortunate news!

Not a closing, but a change: Chef Ken Umehara is no longer associated with fried chicken temple Fry House, and will instead focus on his new personal project.

Sadly Gina Balmesina in Gràcia has closed after 5 years, but you can still visit their OG restaurant on Balmes, or their focaccia spot in Barceloneta.

Sadly Varmuteo will be closing its doors in March, due to Jaume and Vicky deciding to fully focus on Alapar. Varmuteo will be missed!

I’m very sad to announce that vegan restaurant Roots & Rolls has closed their doors for good this month. We’ll miss their delicious, colorful food!
