The Coolest Places to Eat this Summer
Summer is finally here, oh how we have waited..! So where should we be eating and drinking this summer? I put together a list with places I like: a few new ones, some that are perfect for escaping the heat, and some that have a nice terrace to cool off!

Bar Central - Satan’s Coffee and one of the Colombo twins (Xemei) have put their heads together and opened this incredibly dreamy place inside a beautiful garden next to the bookshop La Central in the Raval. Go here for a sandwich and a kombucha, good coffee (obviously) or maybe some delicious ice cream from Natas. Also: don’t tell anybody about this place please, I want to keep it a secret..! Carrer d’Elisabets 6 (Raval).
The Egg Lab - They have a new terrace in the nice and calm Sant Antoni neighborhood, perfect when you want to get away from the crowds. They specialize in brunch (they have a large set of interesting, themed Eggs Benedict) and serve a daily lunch. Read my review here. Carrer de Sepúlveda 80 (Sant Antoni).
Parallelo Gelato - I think this one is pretty obvious, right..? I adore the ice cream at Parallelo, they create genius flavors in their ice cream laboratory. A huge bonus for their variety of vegan ice creams. Read more here. Carrer de Sèneca 18 (Gracia).
Direkte Boqueria - This place with only 8 seats and a gastronomic tasting menu is on everybody’s lips right now. Make sure to book a few weeks in advance. Carrer de les Cabres 13 (Raval).
Honest Greens - This healthy new restaurant has become very popular, and I like to include it here because it’s perfect summer food: their large salads is just what the body needs. Try to go outside peak hours when it’s not too busy. Read more here. Rambla de Catalunya 3 (Plaça Catalunya).
Fismuler - This charming restaurant opened already some time ago, and its popularity keeps on increasing. The decoration is eclectic and their escalope and cheesecake are already iconic. Carrer de Rec Comtal 17 (Born).
Berbena - Sophistication and simplicity come together in this tiny place with a lot of personality. Come here for the seasonal food, a glass of pet nat, interesting cheeses and so much more. Read more here. Carrer de Minerva 6 (Gracia).
Baldomero - If you can’t make it to the countryside this summer, then a little escape to this country house in the middle of the city is just what you need. This place is next level charming. Read more here. Passatge de Mercader 16 (Eixample).
Les Filles Café - This recently opened restaurant is a very well kept secret, with a lush green patio and fresh and innovative dishes. You’ll find spices on the menu you rarely find in restaurants around here, such as ras-el-hanout and dukkah. Carrer de Minerva 2 (Gracia).
Spicy Volx - This Asian tavern is so darn cool, and a perfect, dark escape on a hot day. Read more here. Carrer del Comte Borrell 41 (Sant Antoni).
